Another type of ferroalloy is ferrochrome. This alloy is also prepared from the combination of iron and chromium. Usually, the percentage of chromium in this alloy varies from 50 to 70 percent depending on its use. Ferrochrome is most often used for stainless steel. The average amount of chromium in stainless steels is 18%, to which some ferrochromium ferroalloy is added when needed. Like ferromanganese, ferrochrome also has low carbon, medium carbon and high carbon types. High carbon ferrochrome is used for steel and alloy steel bearing products and steel tools. Low-carbon or medium-carbon ferrochrome is mostly used in the production of stainless and acid-resistant steels.
This ferroalloy is a combination of iron and silicon with different percentages from 10 to 90%. The use of this ferroalloy in cases such as strengthening the product, adjusting the properties of the molten material, the cooling process and the final product, and only a small amount of it is common.
This alloy is a combination of iron and molybdenum and is used in cases where there is no need for high strength of the final product and it is also used in the production of stainless steel. This ferroalloy is used to increase the properties of corrosion and wear resistance and is also used in cast iron tools and high speed steel tools.
